ADNAN OKTAR: In today's English and the other modern European languages, the term 'socratic love' or 'Greek love' is used for referring to homosexuality. Sometimes it is also used as a code name for homosexual intercourse with young boys. The first British writer to use the phrase 'socratic love' or 'socratic sex' was Lytton Strachey, one of the well-known homosexuals of the era and founders of sadomasochism. He founded the Bloomsbury group together with other homosexual writers and poems like himself. Among the members of the club were well-known homosexuals such as the economist John Keynes, the writer E. M. Forster, and the painter Duncan Grant. The term "sokratischen liebe" which means 'socratic love' is used in German for homosexual intercourse. The first one to use this phrase in Germany was the art historian Johann Joachim Winckelmann.
