ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO — A woman in Albuquerque has earned herself a hat trick of charges after failing a sobriety test in spectacular fashion.
On February 17, police received a call about a car driving recklessly. Upon responding to the call, they found Bryell Marshall, 23, passed out in the driver’s seat of her black Volkswagen Sedan, parked partially in the road near a trailer park.
The officers tried to run her through the standard sobriety test, but Marshall appeared unaware of the seriousness of the situation, stumbling around and laughing. In police body cam footage released on February 21, though extremely patient with her, the cops weren’t too amused by her bizarre antics. Marshall happens to a professional cheerleader for a local indoor football team, so rather than walk a straight line, she decided to do cartwheels for the cops.
Every time the lead officer tried to explain what she needed to do to pass the sobriety test, she disregarded his warnings and performed another cartwheel. By the third time she attempted a cartwheel, she accidentally kicked the officer in the back, which led to her arrest.
Marshall was charged with Aggravated DWI, Battery, and driving with an expired license plate. Following the incident, Marshall was fired in her new cheerleading position as one of the Duke City Gladiator Girls.
