A heartwarming video has emerged of two kayakers rescuing a pelican with a fishing lure stuck on its wing and foot.

The footage, captured earlier this month on a beach in Hudson, FL, USA, shows the two men immobilising the animal with a net in order to get the hooks out of its body.

In the end, they managed to set it free.
