A race with a difference took place in Reykjavík recently, after two men dived into snow and started swimming through it.
A video shared to Facebook by Kjartan Valgardsson shows the pair, who are clad only in underwear, jumping into the sleet. They begin a movement that looks vaguely similar to a freestyle swimming stroke, as they power through the white stuff.
Valgardsson dubbed the bizarre event as the “Skaftahlíð Open.” The footage had over 77,000 views on Facebook at the time of writing. Credit: Facebook/Kjartan Valgardsson via Storyful
