Trump offers Planned Parenthood funds if it halts abortions

The White House offered Planned Parenthood to continue providing funds, if the health provider stopped abortion services. President Trump made the offer unofficially, which Planned Parenthood rejected, according to the New York Times. The offer was reportedly intended to prevent public backlash if the federal government stopped providing any funding to the organization. Trump also confirmed to The Times that negotiations with the organization are ongoing. As I said throughout the campaign, I am pro-life and I am deeply committed to investing in women's health and plan to significantly increase federal funding in support of non-abortion services such as cancer screenings," he told The Times.
