Irfan Pathan, who was ignored at the IPL auctions by all the franchises, has been named captain for the Baroda side for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Irfan Pathan's brother Yusuf Pathan is dropped from the team that will be playing in the Hazare One Day Tournament from February 25. Pacer Munaf Patel too failed to make the cut as the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) selectors, went for a young and performing squad this time around. While Irfan Pathan has been made skipper of the team, Deepak Hooda will be the vice-captain. BCA official said, Yusuf was dropped as he has not been performing well for quite some time now. He couldn't score much runs in the Ranji Trophy matches this season and even in T20 matches, he scored only one half century. Munaf too hasn't performed with the ball. We decided to give chance to youngsters who have been performing well said the official.
