Moong Dal or Green Gram is nothing but a plant species in the legume family. It is used as an ingredient in both savoury and sweet dishes.
Ingredients:-
Ghee
½ cup Green Gram soaked in water for 4-5 hours
½ cup water
½ cup milk
Saffron
3-4 ground cardamom
¾ cup sugar
2 tbsp. Raisins
2 tbsp. Cashew-nuts
Almonds
Method:-
Take a generous amount of ghee in a pan and let it heat. Take the soaked green gram in a mixer and grind it coarsely. Add the ground green gram to the ghee in the pan and let it cook on low flame for 15-20 minutes.
Take a pan and add water, milk, saffron sticks, green cardamom, sugar, raisins and cashewnuts to it. Bring this mixture to a boil and add it slowly and gradually to the cooked green gram. Cook this mixture on high flame till it turns dry. Garnish with almonds and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
