Following the death of the mother monkey, passers-by filmed the heartbreaking scene as the baby wailed and held her mother's head while looking into her eyes, as if refusing to believe that she was gone. The baby monkey embraced her mother and cuddled with her one last time. It is unclear what happened to the baby monkey after the filming.
