The father of rock 'n' roll Chuck Berry died Saturday afternoon at his home near Wentzville, Mo., near St. Louis. He was 90 years old. The St. Charles County Police Department in Missouri confirmed his death on its Facebook page. Officers responded to a medical emergency outside Berry's residence, but were unable to resuscitate him. Berry, who pioneered rock music, was known for his unparalleled abilities as a songwriter. Berry's hits were covered by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and the Beach Boys.
