While government officials say many who participate in the ACA marketplaces will not be affected because of government subsidies, the issue is of affordability is crucial to the future of the healthcare law. Experts are quick to point out that healthcare costs have been rising rapidly in recent years and after the passage of the ACA premium hikes slowed. Ultimately, it's unlikely that the ACA will be repealed. ending the law would mean 24 million people would lose healthcare. Instead, many suggest incremental improvements to ensure that Americans have access to affordable healthcare.
