Airlie Beach resident Karen Filby watched as water sprayed off tin roofs and branches were downed in her backyard on Tuesday, March 28, as Cyclone Debbie approached north Queensland.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, Airlie Beach was in the eye of the storm as it made its way towards landfall.
