Stunning footage has emerged of the once dried up Hala Lake full of water again after half a century in China.

The video, filmed in Dunhuang, Gansu Province last Sunday, shows water flowing again after ecological treatment engineering, which started in 2011, brought the lake "back to life".

The lake dried up completely in the 1960s after the reservoir was built.
