A judge has approved a $25 million settlement between President Donald Trump and the former students of Trump University on Friday. U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel closed the seven-year battle where two class-action lawsuits and a civil lawsuit were filed against Trump. Nearly 4,000 former students claimed that they were misled by false promises of success in the real estate business at the university. Those former students are now eligible to receive 90% of their money back. Trump University began operations in 2005 but closed in 2010, the year the class action suit was filed. Approval for the settlement was originally given in November, but Trump said that he didn’t have time for a trial due to the elections.
