The man suspected of planting a bomb on a St Petersburg train, killing 11 people, is believed to be from Kyrgyzstan. The assailant, Akbarzhon Jalilov, was born in the city of Osh in 1995 and later obtained a Russian citizenship, Kyrgyzstan's security service said. Kyrgyzstan is a predominantly Muslim country, and is a close political ally to Russia. Russian authorities are still investigating whether Jalilov was a suicide bomber or not. Shortly after the first bomb went off, an unexploded device was found at another metro station.
