The National Weather Service stated about eight to ten inches of rain fell on central and southwestern Louisiana Monday. A flood warning will remain in place until April 4 at 10 am, local time.
AP reported that a storm system sweeping across the southern United States had brought hurricane-force winds and torrential rain to some areas. On Sunday, a Louisiana mother and her 3-year-old daughter were killed when high winds flipped their mobile home.
