Demonstrations against President-elect Aleksandar Vucic continued in Serbia’s capital Belgrade on April 12.

This footage, which is described as featuring a protest “against dictatorship,” shows people marching past the Usce Shopping Center, near Blok 20 of Belgrade. According to Balkan Insight, these student-led demonstrations have been ongoing since April 3, a day after Vucic won the presidential elections.

Protesters demanded the resignation of parliament speaker and Vucic ally Maja Gojkovic over her decision to suspend parliamentary sessions until after the vote. They also called for the removal of the management of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media and the State Electoral Commission.

Vucic, who is currently prime minister, was elected president with 55 percent of the vote and is expected to continue the country’s path towards EU integration while maintaining close ties to Russia. Although the office of president is largely a ceremonial role, demonstrators are concerned he will maintain control over government through his Serbian Progressive Party.
