2018 Volkswagen Touareg-Diesel,Engine,Release.It seems that the second-generation of the Volkswagen Touareg is about to come to an end. We are definitely looking at a third-generation of this attractive vehicle named after the nomadic people of Sahara. This mid-size luxury crossover SUV is going to grow substantially. It seems that the Touareg is finally going to get a third row of seats. This would be the first Volkswagen vehicle to do so. It might seem a bit too late to the party, however the three row SUV market is ever demanding. This redesign is exactly what Volkswagen needs to get back on the track, so to speak. They have taken major damage as a brand after the diesel scandal that shook the automotive world. It is possible that the new 2018 Touareg is going to remain a mid-size vehicle, but it would do much better if it moved to a larger platform.

Expect to see a complete redesign of this model. They are probably going to utilize the full-width grille to make it look more rugged. The headlights are going to utilize the Dynamic Light Assist technology instead of the previously used adaptive high beam system. This latest technology can not only adjust the range of the beam, but the pattern as well. Bumpers are most likely going to be bigger and bulkier, and the fenders might get an update as well. The vehicle is going to look more aggressive than ever. One of the biggest changes is the platform that underpins the new model. Originally, Touareg vehicles had an underlying Volkswagen Group PL71 platform. After going for the MLB platform, it seems that they are going to make one final change, and go for the much larger MQB architecture. The extended wheelbase will amount to 117.3-inches in length.
