Supporters of Pakistan’s prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, cheered the Supreme Court’s decision on April 20 to allow Sharif to stay in office during investigations into money-laundering and tax evasion alleged by the Panama Papers.
According to reports, the Supreme Court ruled that there was “insufficient evidence” to remove Sharif from office and has ordered the creation of a “Joint Investigation Team” to further investigate Sharif and his three children.
