At least seven people were arrested at a “joint session” rally in Washington on Thursday, April 20. The event was hosted by DCMJ, a marijuana advocacy group, and anyone with a valid congressional ID could grab a joint.

Adam Eidinger, the co-founder of the group, was among those arrested, according to DCMJ. CBS Local in Washington reported giving away up to an ounce of marijuana is legal, as long as it doesn’t happen on federal ground.

DCMJ tweeted the arrests were for distributing on federal ground, and included a map showing where they were stationed, writing, “We weren’t on federal property!”

Another pro-marijuana protest is planned for April 24, in response to the arrests.
