A armed man held more than a dozen people hostage inside a multiplex in Germany. He was later killed in a police shoot out. A police spokeswoman confirmed that no hostage was injured during the operation. Mass shootings are relatively rare in Germany where gun ownership is prevalent but firearm sales and storage are subject to strict regulation.
