Chennai rains have finally made a grand comeback giving much needed respite to the people. It recorded 67 mm of rainfall till 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday, making it the second highest for a single day in the month of May. Chennai has not received such heavy rains in this time span during the last five years. In fact, the last time the city received such heavy rain was in 2010 when 204 mm rain was recorded in 24 hours. During the next 24 hours, Chennai is likely to receive more rains and some more records may be broken during this time.
