A recent unflattering Vanity Fair profile about Melania Trump’s life had some commentary from her spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, who countered several of the assertions.
For instance, after the magazine described her husband as being “simply rude to her” when she was pregnant, Grisham reportedly said that Donald Trump was “very warm and supportive throughout her pregnancy.”
And when one inside source was quoted as saying about his decision to run for office, “She never wanted this, and never had any interest,” Grisham instead claimed that “Mrs. Trump has always been supportive of all her husband’s endeavors.”
However, US Weekly published two reports--one in February and one in March--where unnamed sources said the first lady was “miserable.” The latter story suggested that the couple do not even sleep together anymore, a claim Grisham later called “fictional.”
Meanwhile, the East Wing spokeswoman also claimed that Melania and first daughter Ivanka have “a close relationship” despite indications to the contrary and that the first lady still plans to relocate with her son Barron after the school year even though his new Washington, D.C. school has not been chosen yet.
A New York Daily News piece from about a month ago seemed to corroborate their impending move, with reports of changes to the White House residential quarters and media coaching for the first lady.
