The Local Coordinations Committees, a group monitoring the Syrian conflict, reported over a dozen air raids, as well as artillery shelling, targeting rebel-held areas within the eastern Damascus suburb of al-Qaboun on April 25.
The Revolutionary Forces of Syria Media Office said that one woman and child were wounded in the raids, while local rebel group Jaish al-Islam confirmed that three of its fighters were captured by pro-regime forces in the eastern outskirts of al-Qaboun. Meanwhile, the Syrian military said it killed at least 17 rebel militants after discovering a military tunnel in the same area.
Rebels in the area recently said that the current fighting in al-Qaboun represents the most intensified scale of violence since the regime-launched offensive began in February 2017.
