So it turns out Chris Soules' social media and cell phone activity might determine whether or not he's charged with vehicular manslaughter following the fatal car crash he allegedly caused after colliding with a tractor in rural Iowa.

According to TMZ, police have seized his phone and will examine his texts, social media and cell activity to see if that may have led to the wreck. For example, apparently Soules had a passion for taking sunset pictures from the road on his Instagram, which has since been deactivated.

The former Bachelor star did reportedly leave the scene before paramedics arrived... but TMZ also reports that Soules called 911, identified himself, and checked the pulse of the victim, which could help him in court.

Also, since Soules returned home hours before being arrested, and it's reported he had a stand off with police, it would be difficult for a blood test to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor during the time of the accident.

TMZ also reports that even if a manslaughter charge takes Soules to court, he likely won't be convicted because a rural jury with understanding of farm life won't convict someone who attempted to help the victim.

Instead, its reportedly likely that Soules will settle financially out of court with the victim's family.
