Mexico’s Popocatepetl volcano erupted nine times from Monday, May 1, to Tuesday, May 2, and emitted 109 “low intensity exhalations,” according to the National Center for Disaster Prevention (CENAPRED).
This timelapse footage, captured on May 2, shows one of the eruptions. According to 20 Minutos, the volcano’s exhalations were accompanied with water vapor, gas and minimal amounts of ash.
