The Indian Meteorological Department or IMD has predicted that monsoon rain is likely to be 88 per cent of the long period average rainfall in 2015, the Skymet estimates stand at 102 per cent. Private weather agency Skymet said on Wednesday the country will get normal rainfall this year. A US-based meteorological service provider AccuWeather has also forecast that the country will face a significant drought situation, as very active typhoons over the Pacific are likely to result in weak monsoon rainfall.
