US Rep. Greg Walden’s Oregon constituents cheered for a single-payer healthcare system when the Republican asked how many people would support it during town halls on Monday, May 8.

The East Oregonian posted video showing people cheering for the single-payer system during his town hall in Elgin. This video was taken during a second town hall held in Baker City.

Walden is Oregon’s lone Republican andwas instrumental in passing the American Health Care Act, which would repeal and replace Obamacare, in the House of Representatives. The reaction at his three town halls on Monday was mixed, according to a news report, but people expressed their opposition to the bill passed by the US House of Representatives.
