Protesters marched from the Tulsa County Courthouse to the Mayo Hotel late on May 17 after police officer Betty Shelby was found not guilty of manslaughter for the shooting of Terence Crutcher in September 2016.

Protesters believed that Shelby was staying in the Mayo Hotel.

CBS reported that during the trial, police video taken from a dashboard camera and helicopter showed Crutcher walking away from Shelby with his hands held above his head. No weapon was found on his body or in his car, but he was fired upon when he reached into it. An autopsy found PCP in Crutcher’s system, and police said they found a vial of PCP in his car.

Footage here shows protesters chanting “Hands up. Don’t shoot” outside the Mayo Hotel.
