A stunning timelapse captured lava spouting from Kilauea Volcano in Hawaii on Friday, May 19.
According to the photographer, the river of lava traveled four miles along the volcano’s ridge line, making it inaccessible to film until Thursday. The lava flow then dropped to the bottom of an accessible cliff base, which he was able to hike to in order to record this footage.
He said there was “lava everywhere” and it was a difficult hike, even for an experienced adventurer. Credit: eppixadventures.com via Storyful
