NBA star Enes Kanter was briefly detained at a Romanian airport on Saturday after Romanian authorities said his passport had been canceled by his home country. Kanter is from Turkey and is a vocal critic of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
According to ESPN, the NBA worked with the US State Department to get Kanter, who plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder, out of Romania and to London. Kanter later tweeted a photo saying “All good baby” and that he would hold a news conference on Sunday.
Kanter also tweeted a photo with Romanian border officials.
