Netflix's First Lady Claire Underwood, or Robin Wright, had a lot to say about gender pay disparity. "I was looking at the statistics and Claire Underwood's character was more popular than [Frank's] for a period of time. So I capitalized on it. I was like, 'You better pay me or I'm going to go public.'" In 2014, it was reported that Kevin Spacey made about $500,000 an episode while Wright's earnings came up to $420,000 an episode. She said nothing has changed since then. According to the 'House of Cards' production company, Media Rights Capital, Spacey is paid more because he has an executive producer credit. "It's such a male-dominant workforce still. There's a conditioning. And changing the condition of men is what needs to happen."
