At least 40 people were injured in Turin on June 3 when a false bomb scare sparked a stampede among hundreds of football fans watching local side Juventus play Real Madrid in the Champions League final on a large screen, according to La Stampa.

La Repubblica reported that the panic was caused by the loud bang of railing falling over in a nearby underground parking lot, and someone shouting “bomb, bomb.”
