The Saint Louis Zoo’s baby rhinoceros took his first bath recently. The zoo posted video on Monday, June 5, showing two-week-old Moyo showering with mom, Kati Rain, who showed him how to enjoy the water.
Moyo, who was born on May 17, is the second black rhino to be born at the zoo in 26 years.
The endangered black rhino has experienced the most drastic decline of any of the five surviving rhino species, according to the zoo. Between 1970 and 1992, the black rhino population in Africa dropped by 96 percent. By 1993, only 2,300 black rhinos survived in the wild.
