A very sobering report about Olympian Ryan Lochte coming out of an ESPN interview detailing his struggles to return home after his downfall in Rio.
The swimmer said there was a lot of people wanting a reason to hate him and hurt him personally… and there were a couple of points where he was crying, thinking, if he went to bed and never woke up – fine.
When the interviewer asked him if he contemplated suicide, Lochte said he was a bout to hang up his entire life.
And you probably don’t need an explanation of what that means.
It was one of the biggest stories to come out of the Rio Summer Olympics back in 2016, when Ryan embellished claims that he and his three teammates were robbed at gunpoint in the Brazilian city.
The athlete was ultimately suspended for 10 months and lost millions of dollars worth of sponsors.
Luckily for him he found support in his loved ones and he is currently expecting his first child.
