'The Mummy' is supposed to be the first movie in Universal's "Dark Universe" movie series and one of the big blockbusters of the summer but it had a less than stellar opening weekend. The Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe led flick couldn't beat out 'Wonder Woman' for the top spot, brining in only $32 million compared to $52 million for 'Wonder Woman.' Outside of 'The Mummy,' the rest of the top five weekend earners remained the same, with 'Baywatch' drawing the short straw and falling to number seven. Captain Underpants ($12 million), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales ($10 million) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($6 million) were 3-5 respectively.
