Severe storms were reported across parts of North Dakota on Tuesday, June 13, bringing a terrifyingly large shelf cloud to the southern side of Fargo.
High winds brought down power lines and left more than 3,000 people without power, according to the West Fargo Pioneer. Crews worked through the night to restore power after the storm calmed down, according to news reports.
Danny Virchow posted this video on his Instagram account, saying that he saw the cloud come down just after reports on TV said there would only be straight-line winds in Fargo. He originally thought it was a funnel cloud, but later reports called it a large shelf cloud. Credit: Danny Virchow via Storyful
