A man who deliberately drove a car armed with explosive into a police van in Paris was killed by police. The incident took place on the iconic Champs-Elysees boulevard in central Paris. Gerard Collomb, France's interior minister, explained to reporters that the suspects car contained weapons and explosives. Authorities identified the suspect to The Associated Press as a 31-year-old man from the Paris suburb of Argenteuil who had an “S” file, meaning he was flagged for links to extremism. He also said that there's an open anti-terror investigation into the incident. This latest incident is fifth of such kind on civilians and law enforcement in 2017.
