UPS is going to capitalize on a busy holiday season in 2017. The delivery company will institute a new 27 cent surcharge on all U.S. ground shipments to homes between Nov. 19 and Dec. 2, a period that includes Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The surcharge will also go into effect from December 17-23. UPS will also charge an 81-cent fee for next day air delivery, and 97 cents for two- or three-day ground delivery, during the final rush week. UPS ships on average about 30 million packages a day during the peak season, roughly 11 million more than non-peak days.
