High tide, strong winds and weather from Tropical Storm Cindy caused water to reach buildings and homes along the Lake Pontchartrain waterfront in Mandeville, Louisiana, on Thursday, June 22.
The Times-Picayune reported that Lakeshore Drive took on a couple feet of water. Mayor Donald Villere said only two structures had water inside. As of Thursday afternoon, the water was rising.
Villere told reporters the city fared well during Tropical Storm Cindy, which was downgraded to a tropical depression Thursday afternoon. Credit: Instagram/hagimizogucci via Storyful
