Germany just legalized gay marriage!

After a quick debate, Germany’s Parliament, the Bundestag, voted in favor of the legislation legalizing same-sex marriage.

Germans across the country took to the streets to celebrate the news.

Same-sex couples in Germany have been able to live together in civil unions since 2001, but this marks a historic step forward for the country.  Now activists hope the legislation ignites other German speaking-countries to do the same…
