Sometimes, even the most mundane chore can turn into a memorable experience.
Not long ago, 19-year-old Anthony Iavarone of Clifton Park, New York pulled into a convenience stop because he needed to put some air in his vehicle's tires. Since he was there, he decided to grab a lottery ticket.
Iavarone recalls, “I picked the Cashword ticket because that’s the ticket my aunt always plays.”
He scratched off the boxes and revealed that he was the winner of the New York Lottery’s $1 million prize.
Iavarone will receive a lump sum payment, which, at $661,800, is still a sizable amount of cash.
He’s been working as a freelance landscaper and intends to put his windfall to good use, investing in the growth of his small business.
