So wait, Lorde isn’t part of Taylor Swift’s squad anymore?

There’s certainly a bunch of video evidence, as well as Instagram posts from both T-Swift and Lorde that says otherwise.

But when asked by Australia’s Sunrise, Lorde sort of shied away from boasting about the friendship… After she was asked what it’s like being friends with insanely famous stars like T-Swift, Lorde says, “The second you think too hard about it, you’ll go insane… Also, I don’t hang out with those people at all.”

When Sunrise countered, saying “You’re part of Taylor’s squad,” Lorde reportedly said, “You know, you make friends in different places.”

Some believe this is Lorde distancing herself from Taylor and her famous batch of beautiful friends, but we beg to differ. It sounds like Lorde is just saying that she’s not exclusively associated with those in ivory towers, it gives her anxiety to overthink about it, and she has friends in low places too.

We’re sure T-Swift totally gets it, even if the media tries to blow it out of proportion.
