A new Fox News poll shows that Melania Trump’s popularity continues to rise.
The survey of more than 1,000 registered voters, taken June 25-27, found that 51 percent have a generally favorable view of the first lady.
The figure represents a 16 percent increase from about a year ago.
Compared to that period, the first lady appears to have gained more support across most segments including party lines, genders, and age ranges.
Meanwhile, in the recent poll, only 28 percent reported an unfavorable impression of her; 19 percent indicated they could not say either way.
Her overall figures were more positive than that of President Trump; he had a 47 percent favorable rating and a 51 percent unfavorable rating.
A CNN/ORC poll from March also found that 52 percent of participants viewed the first lady favorably, but these responses were more heavily split along party lines.
CNN noted about the results, "86% of Republicans view the first lady favorably, while just 22% of Democrats feel the same. That margin is a lot wider for Melania Trump than it was for Michelle Obama, who in April 2009 had a favorable rating of 93% among Democrats and 50% among Republicans."
