Looks like Derek Jeter has some backup in regards to his efforts to purchase the Miami Marlins. A new report from the NY Post says that Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan has joined a team of investors with Jeter. However, the article states that Jordan isn't ponying up all that much cash. Jeter's group of 15 investor or so has put together a bid of $1.2 billion. Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria has set an asking price of $1.3 billion but instead will now take a lower bid. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred said Monday that all three groups attempting to bid have met Loria's asking price. A decision is not expected until next week.
