Ravi Shastri was appointed as the head coach of the Indian cricket by CAC, but one of its member Sourav Ganguly was strongly against appointing him. It was only after Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar persuaded him, who wanted Ganguly to respect the team's decision, thus he gave his approval on the name of Shastri.
