This is quite a challenging mission (and even more so if you attempt to achieve all the bonus goals) that pits you against some pretty dangerous hostiles. I was fortunate that my wingmen survived a little longer than normal, allowing me to give the business to the X-Wings and Y-Wings. Once all the primary goals are completed, A-Wings show up, but they're nearly impossible to contend with, especially if you're damaged, out of missiles, and without wingmen. The only viable solution would be to bring the fight to your capital ship, and hope its lasers take out the A-Wings while you evade.
