The music industry is mourning the death of Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington. News broke today that the 41-year-old rocker committed suicide by hanging himself on July 20 and his death was confirmed by the LA County Coroner.
His body was found inside a private home in the very upscale LA neighborhood of Palos Verdes around 9am PST, according to media sources.
The police confirmed to E! News they were responding to a phone call from a residence. Chester has been open about his addiction issues with drugs and alcohol in the past and it’s not known at this time if anything was found at the scene.
Chester is survived by this wife, Talinda , and six children.
A source told RadarOnline.com, “Everyone is just absolutely in shock right now. He was one of the brightest and most talented people on this planet and lived life to the fullest. He did struggle with addiction and alcohol issues but everyone thought that he had it beat and was at a very good place in his life. Him and Chris [Cornell] were best friends and he was never the same after Chris’s death. It is just so tragic and there are no words.
