A cute video has emerged of a dog swimming into the sea to retrieve its owner's flipflop at Terrigal Beach, NSW, Australia.

"The owner of the Labrador was throwing her flipflop into the ocean for the dog to retrieve," the filmer wrote online.

"This time round, the flipflop was quite far out and the dog needed some encouraging whistles and yells to swim out to it."

"Eventually the dog finds the flipflop and then swims back to shore.
The dog seemed to enjoy catching the waves," he added.
