A video has emerged of a lizard losing its tail as a man tries to remove it from an air conditioner.

The footage, shot near Los Angeles, CA, USA, captures the spectators' reactions as the ordeal unfolds.

The tail can be seen twitching on the floor long after the lizard escaped.

Although the video was shot in 2015 it only recently surfaced online.
