before ending up at the Japanese bank Nomura as the head of its United States tech research team.
Although Mr. Sherlund has a long history in technology — first as a research analyst and then as an investment banker — his role is focused more on helping clients outside
that world better understand how the latest trends will reshape their businesses.
“I think back to a comment that Larry Ellison once made about tech,” Mr. Sherlund
said in a telephone interview about the constant changes in the tech industry.
